Berovo is a town in the far east of North Macedonia, set high in the Maleševo mountains close to the border with Bulgaria, in a basin of pine forests, pasture and clean mountain air. It is the main town of the Maleševo region, at around 800 to 900 metres above sea level, and serves as the centre for its upland district in the country's eastern corner. The high, forested setting and the cool, fresh climate are central to its character.

Berovo is best known for its mountain environment and its highland produce. The surrounding pine forests, the clean air and Berovo Lake, a reservoir set among the woods above the town, make it a destination for nature and weekend tourism, and the area is well known within the country for its dairy and cheese. The Berovo Monastery, a historic foundation dedicated to the Archangels near the town, is another notable feature. Five marked routes around the lake and forest give walking and cycling close at hand.

Property runs from houses and apartments in the town to family homes and traditional houses in the surrounding highland villages, along with plots and land in this mountain country, and properties aimed at weekend and holiday use. As a small upland town with a tourism and highland-produce role rather than a large resort, it offers a particular kind of stock. Bearing in mind the mountain climate and the upkeep of older houses, condition, legal status, title and boundaries are all worth confirming.
